Saint John’s Gospel commentary by Thomas Aquinas is an interesting read, and interprets for our modern worldview a time-tested didactic of historic Catholic thought. St. Thomas Aquinas’  Catena Aurea is a masterpiece anthology of Patristic commentary on the Gospels and includes the work of over eighty Church Fathers.
